The Public API
Trackplanet has an API that’s open to its users to allow some nice automations. It’s a work in progress and this post will always reflect the current status.
Getting an API key
Head to your trackplanet profile and then ‘Edit Profile’. Down in Developer Settings you can request an API key. This is a one-time operation and you’ll be warned to save your key somewhere. If you request another key, your old one will be revoked.

Happy listening!
Hello World!
I’m super pleased to have gotten trackplanet ready to go. I’ve been working on it on-and-off for around a year now, and I’m really excited to start using it in earnest.
Trackplanet lets you keep a log of the songs you love. Create a little diary for yourself of the songs you were hearing at certain times and (hopefully) find some good music from others. Make lists to store the music you want to listen to but haven’t had chance to yet, or collate songs you think make the ultimate mixtape.
Music you add is ready to go in your preferred streaming service straight away. Out of the box it supports:
- Apple Music
- Spotify
- Tidal
- Qobuz with support for Deezer and Youtube Music on my hitlist.
If you’re a blogger or RSS feed user (like me) you can get your feed as JSON to add a source for your blog or feed reader.
It’s early days, and there’s so much more I want to do.
